With saints rejoicing, Tanis Garza entered God's Heaven bowing before her Savior, Jesus, on July 12, 2023. She entered this world on November 13, 1922, in Lomita, Texas to Juan Ramirez and Canuta Ruiz. Tanis was preceded in death by her loving husband, Daniel B. Garza. They married in October 1941; together, they lived in Hobbs, New Mexico where they raised four children: Lydia Garza Moyers, Geneva Garza Acosta, Daniel Garza Jr. and Christine Garza Neff. She was "Abuela" to 10 grandchildren: Debbie G. Gonzales-Roybal, Martin Gonzales, Lilly Acosta, Joe Acosta Jr., Michael Acosta (deceased), Robert Acosta, Eric Neff (deceased), Jocelyn Weinsenberger, Madelynn Garza and Ryan Bowman as well as 7 great-grandchildren, and 11 great-great-grandchildren.
She was a devoted mother, grandmother, friend, and Christian who thoroughly loved life. Tanis loved her family dearly; her children were her pride and joy. She had a strong relationship with Jesus Christ and loved and serviced her church. One of her favorite activities was to volunteer in church and schools.
Tanis always had a smile on her face; she offered a helping hand to hundreds of friends and family. She never met a stranger; hundreds of people felt her kindness and generosity. She was extremely witty and made people laugh. Tanis was a classy lady with impeccable taste. She was an amazing, wise, beautiful soul that radiated light and love. She had more love to share than imaginable. She will be forever missed by family, grandchildren, and friends.
