Graveside services for Ernest Cecil Martin of Hobbs, New Mexico, will be 2 p.m. Monday, January 26, 2009, at Oak Grove Cemetery in Oak Grove, Louisiana.

Arrangements are under the direction of Cox Funeral Home of Oak Grove, Louisiana, and local arrangements are by Chashy;pel of Hope Funeral Home.

Mr. Marshy;tin, 85, died January 22, 2009, at Hobbs Health Care Center in Hobbs, New Mexico. He was born July 28, 1923, in Hamburg, Arkansas. He married Ann Taylor on May 22, 1943, in Hamburg, Arkansas. ..

Mr. Martin worked as a truck driver for Climax Chemical for several years in Hobbs. He loved yard work. and just pidshy;dling in the back yard. He always had a dog. He was a member of the Masonic Lodge.

Survivors include a daughter, Cathy Nelson and husband Stanley of Hart, Texas; a son, Ronald E. Martin and wife Suzanne of Edmund, Oklahoma, and a daughter, Donna Martin of Hobbs, New Mexico; three grandsons, Sean Black, Tommy Preston and Steven Martin; three granddaughters, Laura Wimberley, Carol Dawn Thern and Melissa Ross; and 12 great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Perry L. and Georgia Ann Martin; his wife, Ann Taylor Martin; two brothers; and two sisters.

Memorial contributions may be made to Shriners Children's Hospitals.
