Elias Doporto

Funeral services for Elias "Lee" Doporto, 80, of Hobbs, New Mexico, will be held on Monday, May 8, 2017, at Bethel Assembly Church, 2:00 pm. Burial will follow the funeral service at Memory Gardens Cemetery. Lee was born December 5, 1936 in Loving, New Mexico to Jose and Esperanza Ortega Doporto. He passed away May 4, 2017 in Roswell, New Mexico.

Lee had lived in Hobbs since 1996. He retired from Amoco Production after over 25 years of service. He started his second career at The Other Store for E.L. Martin where he sold boots and enjoyed meeting new friends. He enjoyed fishing. Lee and Tomasita were married November 16, 1958 in Artesia, NM. He was a member of the Assembly of God.

Those who survive him are: his wife, Tomasita, of Roswell, NM; son, Michael Doporto and wife, Brenda of Hobbs; a daughter, Dianna Cordero and husband, Gilbert of Roswell, NM; and Angela Gamboa, whom he loved as a daughter and her husband, Art of Albuquerque, NM; 5 brothers, Joe, Ernest, Edward, Eliseo, and Eloy Doporto; 2 sisters, Lorina Flores and Lucinda Sanchez; 5 grandchildren, 15 great-grandchildren and 1 great great grandchild.

Lee was proceeded in death by his parents and a sister, Leonor Sosa.
