Edna Thompson

Graveside services for Edna L. Thompson will be held 9:00 a.m. June 30, 2011, at Memory Gardens Cemetery with family presiding. Visitation will be Tuesday, 11 a.m. 5 p.m. and Wednesday, 8 a.m. 7 p.m. at Chapel of Hope which is in charge of arrangements.

Edna died June 26, 2011, in Hobbs. She was born November 14, 1929, in Benson, North Carolina, to W. B. and Sallie Coats. She married Charlie Thompson in 1954.

Mrs. Thompson loved to travel, loved her yard she had a beautiful yard and loved to cook. She enjoyed her work and enjoyed people and even took care of her neighbors

Edna is survived by her daughter, Charla Bascom and husband Buddy of Hobbs a brother, Bryan Coats and a sister, Shelley Johnson, both of Clayton, NC two grandsons, Zane Turnbow and wife Michelle, and Clay Turnbow, both of Hobbs and two greatgrandchildren, Jakob and Cadence Turnbow, both of Hobbs.

Preceding her in death was her husband, Charlie, who died June 6, 1997.

Memorial contributions may be made to M. D. Anderson Hospital in Houston.
