alignjustifyDorothy Borum of Hobbs, New Mexico, will be held at 11 a.m. Wednesday, July 8, 2009, at Chapel of Hope Funeral Home with Pastor Dale Shook officiating.

alignjustifyGraveside services will be held at 2:30 p.m. July 8 at Southpark Cemetery in Roswell, New Mexico. Visitation is 5-7 p.m. Tuesday with the family in attendance at Chapel of Hope Funeral Home.

alignjustifyArrangements are under the direction of Chapel of Hope Funeral Home.

alignjustifyMrs. Borum 91, died July 5, 2009, at Hobbs Health Care Center. She was born January 13, 1918, in Henry County, Missouri. She married Herman E. J a c k Borum on July 18, 1945.

alignjustifyEdna was a devoted wife for 61 years, a loving mother for 61 years and a dedicated Southern Baptist pastor's spouse. She was very committed to her God and church, regularly volunteering as Vacation Bible School director, Training UnionChurch Training director, camp helper and Sunday School teacher.

alignjustifyEdna's favorite pastime was garage sales. She and her daughter Ellen were active as recently as five weeks ago shopping for that nickel or occasionally a quarter treasure.

alignjustifyMrs. Borum shared a home with her daughter Ellen and son-in-law, Layne, during the last three years. These were very happy years as she quickly became a part of Ellen's network of friends and the Taylor Memorial Church family. They all came to know her as a gentle, kind and loving spirit.

alignjustifyEdna lived by the creed, This is the day the Lord hath made. I will rejoice and be glad in it.

alignjustifySurvivors include a son, Kenneth A. Borum and wife , Nancy-Ray Borum of Parkville, Missouri; a daughter, Ellen Louise Rodgers and husband Layne of Hobbs; a brother, C.E. Robison of Kankakee, Illinois; four grandchildren, Lindsay Rowe of Kansas City, Missouri, Kellie Borum of Denver, Colorado, Jordan Rodgers of Albuquerque, New Mexico, and Dylan Rodgers of Albuquerque, New Mexico. She was preceded in death by her husband, Herman E. Jack Borum, on August 11, 2006.
