A funeral service for Eddie Chocolate DeLaPaz of Hobbs will be noon, Thursday, June 17, 2010, at Hobbs First Assembly.
Pastor Ernie Eidson will officiate.
Burial will follow after services at Prairie Haven Memorial Park Cemetery.
Visitation will be Wednesday 8 a.m. 8 p.m. and Thursday 8 a.m. until 10:30 a.m. at Chapel of Hope Funeral Home, which is in charge of arrangements.
DeLaPaz, 34, of Hobbs died June 11, 2010, at University Medical Center of Lubbock. He was born August 4, 1975, in Hobbs.
Eddie graduated from Hobbs High School in 1993 and later went on to graduate from college in 2000 with a bachelors degree in computer graphic design. He loved being creative. He took pride in all that he did. Eddie took the most pride in his three greatest accomplishments: his children

Survivors include his father, Ernesto DeLaPaz of Hobbs mother and stepfather, Sylvia Porras and husband Fabian of Hobbs children, Jasmine Lorraine DeLaPaz, Andrew John DeLAPaz and Ashlynn Nicole DeLaPaz, all of Hobbs brothers, Freddy, Ernesto, Jr. and David DeLaPaz, all of Hobbs sisters, Maricella Andrade of Hobbs and Veronica DeLaPaz of Hobbs nieces and nephews, Karina, Selena, Alex Andrade and D.J. DeLaPaz, all of Hobbs grandparents, Manuel and Ernestina Cantu of Hobbs aunts, uncles and many cousins.
Eddie was preceded in death by grandparents Juan and Ramona DeLaPaz and nephew Jesus David Andrade.
Memorial contributions may be made to a charity of ones choice.
