Earnest Perkins

Earnest W. Perkins, 81, of Hobbs, NM, died Monday, November 29, 2010. Earnest was born on December 12, 1928, in Round Timber, Texas , to William Thomas and Lula Bell Sherman Perkins.

Funeral services will be held 10:00 a.m. Monday, December 6, 2010, at the Fellowhip of Believers Church with Pastor John Ayers officiating. Interment will follow in the Prairie Haven Memorial Park Cemetery. Visitation will be held Sunday, December 5, 2010, from 1 p.m. 5 p.m. Funeral services are under the direction of Chapel of Hope Funeral Home of Hobbs. Memorial contributions may be made to Church of Hobbs, 815 Eagle Dr., Hobbs, NM 88240.

Earnest came to the Hobbs area in the mid 1940s. He married Wanda Maiville on August 29, 1975, in Hobbs. In 1948 he went to work for El Paso Natural Gas Company retiring in February, 1981, after 33 years of service. Earnest was a Godgifted mechanic and he enjoyed restoring cars for resale. Earnest was a member of the Fellowship of Believers church in Hobbs.

Survivors include his wife, Wanda of the home 2 sons, Earnest Perkins of Houston, TX, and Donald Perkins of Jacksonville, FL 2 daughters, Elizabeth Nicolitz and husband Ernst of Jacksonville, FL, and Deborah McClanahan and husband Dennis of Hobbs, NM 2 brothers, Dub Perkins and wife Margaret and Pete Perkins and wife Margie all of Boonville, Ar 2 sisters, Patsy Franklin and husband Roy of Chickasha, OK, and JoAnn Roach and husband George of Boonville, AR five grandchildren and six greatgrandchildren.

Earnest was preceded in death by his parents and 2 sisters.
