Doyle Cornett

Doyle Herman Cornett, peacefully entered Heavenly rest on July 8, 2014 in Carlsbad, New Mexico.
Doyle was born April 6, 1943 in Lamesa, Texas to parents Lelas Bill Cornett and Buna Frances Cornett Gartman and graduated from Hobbs High school and attended Wayland Baptist University in Plainview, TX.
Doyle was previously employed by Sherman Williams in Hobbs, NM. CARC Farm and Denton Funeral Home in Carlsbad, NM. He also served as a volunteer for Carlsbad Police Department as a community service officer. He loved to play the piano, sing gospel music and was an avid reader.
Preceded in death by his parents Doyle is survived by a sister, Brinda Childs of Hobbs a son, Dennis Cornett and wife Peggy of Stansbury Park, Utah a son, Terry Cornett of Kingman, Ariz. a daughter, Sherry Townsend and husband Chad of Kingman, Ariz. nieces Melissa Sorrells and husband Galen of Snyder, Texas, and Kim Montes and husband Ralph of Hobbs, NM 11 grandchildren and 2 great grandchildren.
Visitation will be from 27 p.m. Thursday July 10, 2014 at Chapel of Hope. Funeral services for Mr. Cornett will be 2 p.m. Friday July 11, 2014 at Chapel of Hope, officiated by Pastor Ray Poskey. Interment will follow at Prairie Haven Memorial Park, Hobbs, New Mexico.
