Dorothy Ornelas

Funeral services for Dorothy Hill Ornelas will be 10:00 a.m. Monday, October 31, 2011, at Temple Baptist Church officiated by Pastor LaVoid Ford. Interment will follow at Prairie Haven Memorial Park. Visitation will be Sunday, October 30, 2 5 p.m. at Chapel of Hope Funeral Home which is in charge of arrangements. Family will greet friends Sunday 2 4 p.m.

Dorothy died October 27, 2011, at Heartland Care of Hobbs. She was born June 17, 1925, in Honey Grove, Texas, to William Henry and Minnie Mae Scantling. Dorothy was an active member of Temple Baptist Church. She was a LPN for Lea Regional Hospital until it closed and then for Lea Regional Medical Center.

Surviving Dorothy are two sons, Russell Hill, and wife Lynn, of Hobbs and Ben Hill, and wife Cynthia, of Hobbs a stepson, Luis Ornelas, Jr. of Hobbs a daughter, Lonna Enox Tucker, and husband Ron, of Roswell, NM two brothers, Donald Scantling, and wife Donna, of Buffalo, WY, and Robert Scantling, and wife Donna, of Los Lunas, NM two sisters, Margaret Lee, and husband Wink, of Aztec, NM, and Bette Brown of Georgia four grandsons and three granddaughters, Shannon and Enoch Hill of Midland, TX, Ron Hill of Carlsbad, NM, Nathan Enox of Roswell, NM, Monica Enox of Roswell, Marissa Hrisco of McKinney, TX, and Adriana Bush of Hobbs and seven greatgrandchildren.

Dorothy was preceded in death by her parents, three brothers, one sister, and her husband, Luis Ornelas.
