Donna Nichols

Donna Nichols of Hobbs, New Mexico reunited with her Savior on June 8, 2012. She was surrounded by her family as she began her forever life. She was born on February 23, 1940 to T.E. and Ruth Vandagriff of Hobbs, New Mexico. Donna married Sidney Charles Nichols on June 28, 1957 and was blessed with three children, Mike, Lisa and Cory, and three grandchildren, Jacob Holler, Tyler Nichols, and McKenzie Nichols.

At a very young age, Donna was blessed with an amazing talent as a pianist. She was well known for her abilities and highly respected as one of the most talented accompanist throughout the area. Donna began playing the piano at First Baptist Church of Hobbs as a teenager and remained in that position for almost 60 years. She loved her job serving her Lord through her talent.

Donnas interests included crafts, sewing, reading, and playing the piano. She devoted many years in babysitting her grandchildren and attending activities in which they were involved. She loved spending time with her family and friends and felt blessed to have them in her life.

Donna is survived by her husband Sid Nichols of Hobbs, her children son, Mike Nichols of Dallas, Texas, daughter Lisa Nichols of Hobbs, and son Cory and his wife, Joni Nichols of Tulsa, OK, along with three grandchildren Jacob Holler, Tyler Nichols, and McKenzie Nichols. She is also survived by a brother Jerre and his wife Lois Vandagriff, a sister June Dossey, a sister Dana and her husband Richard Mossman, and a brother Jim and wife Lavonne Vandagriff along with several cousins, nephews and nieces.

Services will be held Tuesday June 12, 2012 at 10:00 am at First Baptist Church of Hobbs. Interment will be at Prairie Haven.

Donna was preceded in death by her parents, T.E. and Ruth Vandagriff, her fatherinlaw R.D. Dewey Nichols and motherinlaw Bertha Nichols, her brother Ted Vandagriff, her nephew Gary Dossey, and her niece Becky Simpson.
