Ladonna Denene Callaway, a devoted wife, mother, sister, Nonna, aunt and cherished friend, peacefully passed into the arms of The Lord on August 29, 2024, at the age of 60.
Donna was born on May 13, 1964, in Hobbs, New Mexico to her beloved parents, Pete and Dorthy Gibson. She was raised alongside her twin sister, Kim and older brother, Dee. The bond with her family was like none other. In May 1983, she married her lifelong and Jr. High School sweetheart, Larry Callaway. Together, they built a life full of love and memories, that will be cherished forever. They raised two beautiful children, Brittany and Braxton who later blessed her with 3 grand babies. Bentley, Canyon, and Kian were Nonna’s pride and joy.
Donna had the incredible gift of bringing light and joy to everyone she encountered. Her laughter was contagious, she smiled with her eyes and her kindness knew no bounds. As a true lover of people, she touched many lives with her warm spirit and generous heart. Donna had many hobbies and passions that included: rescuing animals, crafting, shopping, archaeology, storm chasing, star gazing, collecting antiques, always finding beauty in the old and creating it anew with her talented hands. She had a heart of gold.
She is survived by her devoted husband of 41 years, Larry Callaway, brother Dee Gibson, sister Kim Madera and husband David, daughter Brittany and husband Joshua Flowers, son Braxton Callaway and wife Anahi, her treasured grandchildren: Bentley and Canyon Flowers, and Kian Callaway. Donna is remembered with love by her mother-in-law, Venita Riddle and Anne Callaway as well as many dear friends and extended family members who will miss her dearly. She was preceded in death by her parents Pete and Dorthy Gibson and two grandchildren Bristol Jo and Sawyer Dove Flowers.
