Donald Newcomb

Donald Edward Newcomb went on to be with the Lord on August 21, 2015. Don was born November 20, 1939 in Durant, Oklahoma to Lottie and Buck Newcomb.

When he was 9 years old his family moved to Hobbs, New Mexico, where he continued to reside until his death. His great loves were the Lord and his family. Don spent his adult life working with his passions, helping his church and the people involved. In his older years he was involved with jail ministry for 8 and ½ years, during which he touched many lives for the Lord. He was known by all to be willing to give the shirt off of his back to anyone in need which included family, friends and/or strangers. Don made furniture for friends, family and various churches that found themselves in need of such. He went into the Air Force as a young man and when he returned home married Margaret Newcomb in 1965. He worked in the potash mines, as a City of Hobbs police officer and then worked for Warren Petroleum in Monument, NM until 1996, at which time he retired. Donald and Margaret had two daughters, Dawn and Terri. He coached both daughters' softball teams and then became involved with his grandchildren's sports teams.

Don is survived by his wife of 50 yrs, Margaret Newcomb, daughter Dawn Bliss and husband Benny Bliss, daughter Terri Newcomb, three grandchildren, Stanley Witulski, Stephen Witulski and Bailey Giesbrecht and husband David Griesbecht, and great-granddaughter Emery Giesbrecht, brother Ron Newcomb and wife Terry Newcomb, brother Kim Newcomb and wife Sharon Newcomb, sister Diana Perry and husband Loyd Perry, and many nieces and nephews and great nieces and nephews and his four legged child Lil Bit.

Don was preceded in death by his mother, Lottie Newcomb, father Buck Newcomb, sister, Charlotte Rodgers, great grandson Bentley Witulski. Don is holding his great grandson patiently waiting for the rest of his family.
