Funeral services for Donald Lindsay, 93, of Hobbs, will be Saturday, July 23, 2011, at 10:00 a.m. at St. Pauls United Methodist Church with Rev. Calvin Hill presiding. Visitation will be Friday, July 22, from 3 p.m. 6 p.m. at Chapel of Hope which is in charge of arrangements. Don passed away in his sleep early in the morning of July 19, 2011, at the Texas Veterans Home in Big Spring, TX. He was born January 28, 1918, in Sanilac, MI, to Alexander and Jean Lindsay.
Donald married Elsie Heronemus in Decker, MI, and he farmed in the Shabbona, MI, area and also worked in Flint, MI, and Lapeer, MI. They moved to Hobbs in 1984. He was a member of the Lions Club and St. Pauls United Methodist Church. He loved hunting, fishing and gardening. His favorite thing was a good cup of coffee.
Don is survived by two sons, Kenneth Lindsay, and wife Susan, of Houston, TX, and Robert Lindsay, and wife Cindy, of Hobbs, NM granddaughters, Carrie Annie Lindsay, of Clarkston, MI, Amy LindsayNash and husband Ed, of Houston, TX, and Hannah Cummins of Hobbs, NM grandson, Jeff Lindsay and wife Amy, of Houston, TX and five greatgrandchildren, Nate, Mateo, Vinci, Marco and Landon.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Alexander and Jean his wife, Elsie three brothers, Alex, Dons twin brother, Bruce and David Lindsay and two sisters, Agnes Smith and Trudy Myers.
