Don Chandler

Don Marvin Chandler, 84, of Hobbs, NM was born May 22, 1938 in Highlands, Texas to Marvin Franklin Chandler and Zula Belle (Hopper) Chandler. Don passed away February 19, 2023 in Hobbs.

Don met the love of his life, Glenda Rochelle Long, in elementary school and they were married for 64 years until her passing, June 9, 2022. After his love for family, he had a special place in his heart for the state of Texas and a great affection for good ole USA.

He is survived by his 3 daughters, Donna (Mark) Sharp, Cathy (Kevin) Robinson and Tracy South. He also leaves 5 grandchildren, Summer (Drew) Rickman, Tyler Robinson, Scott (Annie) Sharp, Allie Sharp and Colton (Alisha) South as well as 4 great-grandchildren, Sadie Robinson, Sydney Robinson, River Rickman, and Olivia Sharp. He leaves a sister, Judy (Mike) Habermehl.

Don joins in heaven his “yellow rose of Texas”, Glenda, his parents, sister-in-law, Sue Adams, nephew, Todd Tiller and beloved son-in-law, Seborn South.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations to the Lea County Humane Society in his name.
