Dennis Baird

Funeral services for Dennis Bruce Baird will be Wednesday, May 25, 2011, 10:00 a.m. at Christian Center officiated by Pastor Keenan Witcher. Visitation will be Tuesday, noon 7 p.m. and 8 8:30 a.m. Wednesday at Chapel of Hope which is in charge of arrangements. There will be a private graveside service at Prairie Haven Memorial Park immediately after services.

Bruce was born October 9, 1940, in Winnsboro, LA, to George and Eva Mae Baird. He died May 22, 2011, at his home in Hobbs. He was quite the practical jokester, enjoyed people and was happygolucky. Camping and RVing were what he really liked to do. He was a member of Northern Heights Baptist Church.

Mr. Baird is survived by his wife, Shirley of Hobbs son, Kelly Baird of Hobbs daughter, Keverly Simmons and husband Sonny of Hobbs three sisters, Georgia Powell of Ozona, TX, Francis Smith and Polly Owens of Hobbs stepson, R.L. Callahan of Hobbs stepdaughter, Shelli Auld and partner, Mike Hinojos, of Carlsbad and numerous grandchildren and greatgrandchildren
