Randolph, 53, died June 5, 2010, at his home in Hobbs. He was born September 2, 1956, in Hobbs.
As a child, Davids love of outdoors began with Boy Scouts and spending time with his Poppy, helping farm and work cattle. He enjoyed sports, lettering in high school football and track as a pole vaulter. The name Spider came as he was described looking like a long legged spider going over the bar in the pole vault. This name carried through to his career in rodeo where he rode bulls and bareback horses. Spider played rugby and was on the NMSU rodeo team. A highlight of rodeoing was the year he won the National Bull Riding Championship of New Mexico.
David loved his Lord, his family and friends. A Patriot to the core, he served his country for many years in unacknowledgeable ways. Dave was a loyal friend, always ready to lend a hand whatever the time, day or night. A true cowboy of the Old West, David believed his word was his bond and his handshake his contract. He was known to deliver vegetables from his garden to his many friends, often with advice in the best was to prepare them.
