David Bussell, Jr.

A memorial service for David A. Bussell Jr. of Hobbs, N.M., will be held at 2 p.m. Thursday, June 21, 2007, at Chapel of Hope Funeral Home with Pastor Todd Keller officishy;ating.

Mr. Busshy;sell, 84, died June 19, 2007, at Lea Regional Meshy;dical Center. He was born Feb. 13, 1923, in El Dorado, Ark. He married Alene Allbritton Bussell on June 25, 1942, in El Dorado, Ark.

David served in the U.S. Air Force from Feb. 22, 1943 until 0ct. 27, 1945. Two years were served overseas: one in India and one on Tinian Island with the 20th Air Force. David moved to Hobbs, N.M., in 1964 from Wichita Falls, Texas. He retired as a store manager after 40 years of service with Oilwe1l Division of U.S. Steel Corp. He had been a member of First Baptist Church since 1972.

David was a Mr. Fix-it. He greatly enjoyed working to make his grandshy;children's toys perfect. He believed he could fix anything but a broken heart. He had a love and kindness for his anishy;mals. His family and grand-children were the joys of his life. He showed his love every day to his wife of 65 years, Alene.

Survivors include his wife, Alene Bussell of the home; two sons, Gary Bussell and wife Sherry of Plano, Texas, and Bruce Bussell and wife Lea Ann of Lubbock, Texas; a daughter, Lynda Tafoya of Hobbs, N.M.; a brother, Sedford Bussell of El Dorado, Ark.; nine grandchildren; and eight great-grandchildren.

Mr. Bussell was preceded in death by his parents, one sisshy;ter and a daughter-in-law, Candy Bussell in 1997.
