Dan Little passed away on December 25, 2012 at Lea Regional Hospital in Hobbs after a lengthy illness.He was preceded in death by his parents Dan and Clyo Little of Hobbs, two daughters Rebecca Knapp of Sacramento Ca. and Cindy Little of Hobbs.
He is survived by his wife Norma of Hobbs,: 3 children a daughter, Sharon Mitchell of Hobbs, a son, Daniel Little and daughterinlaw Judy of TX, step daughter Wanda and soninlaw James Cecil of Hobbs. 9 grandchildren: Michael Mitchell of Marina Del Rey, Calif, Nicole Ehnisz of Bellflower, Calif, Alicia and Brian Spradlin of Frisco, TX., Cambria Little of Wylie TX., Caylie Little of Wylie, TX., Jim Cecil of Hobbs, Jena and Bo Nix of Hobbs, Kim Thompson of Hobbs, Kathy and Joe Gustwiller of Ala., sisterinlaw Hazel Cushing of Kensington MD. and 9 great grandchildren.
He served in the Air Force during World War II. While in the Air Force he received an American Theater Ribbon with 1 Bronze Star and a AsiaticPacific Ribbon with 2 Bronze Stars.Dan is a past Worthy Patron of the Bethany Chapter 56 Order of the Eastern Star of Hobbs, NM, and a member of the Hobbs Masonic Lodge No. 63 and Shriners International for over 50 years.
He worked in Hobbs, for many years in the construction industry, working for Colonial Homes, building Taylor Ranch subdivision, Bel Aire Center and much more. After leaving Hobbs in 1962 and moving to Calif, he build many of the studios at Warner Brothers Studios, Kmart Stores and retail shopping centers. He owned three large craft stores and water stores before his retirement.
Memorial services will be at 10:00 a.m. Saturday, January 26,2013 at Chapel of Hope with Dennis Glassglow officiating.
