Dan Derlin Wilson passed away February 6, 2011, at University Medical Center in Lubbock, Texas. He was born May 25, 1929, in Winnsboro, Texas, to Mr. and Mrs. Clarence Wilson.
He graduated from Como High School in Como, TX, in 1947. He came to West Texas in the early fifties and went to work as a salesman in the oilfield for Homco International and Weatherford, CPS. He retired in 1992.
He was a member of First Christian Church. He was an avid fisherman, having fished all the lakes in Texas and New Mexico. He had a great love for hunting quail and dove. He said, If you cant hunt it or fish it, forget it. He loved sports and played golf for many years at Hobbs Country Club.
He is survived by his wife, Wilma Jo of Hobbs a son, Gary Wilson and wife Dana of Weatherford, TX a daughter, Jana Sebastain and husband Tom of
Midland, TX a brother, C. L. Wilson of Tyler, TX stepson, Jeff Lee of Midland, TX five grandchildren, Toby Wilson, Casey McGuirk, Tim Sebastain and Lacy Sebastain, Meagan Nebgen and nine beautiful greatgrandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Clarence and Ethel Wilson and two sisters, Teresa Smith and Jean Weeks.
Funeral services will be 11 a.m. Thursday, February 10, 2011, at First Christian Church, 305 W Alston, Hobbs NM, with minister Rick McComas officiating. Burial will be at Prairie Haven Memorial Park after services. Visitation will be Wednesday, February 9 at 8 a.m. 7:30 p.m. with the family in attendance from 6 7:30 p.m. at Chapel of Hope Funeral Home which is in charge of arrangements.
