Dan Lavelett, 84, was born March 27, 1932 in Canute, OK. He passed away Wednesday, April 27, 2016 in Hobbs, NM.
Dan married Betty Davis on August 10, 1957 in St. Helena Catholic Church. They were married for 58 years. He was a member of St. Helena Catholic Church. He was a 66 year member of the Knights of Columbus. Dan enjoyed woodworking and was a great collector of "things". He was retired from Texaco and the Army Reserve.
He is survived by his wife of the home, 3 daughters, Jo Claire Pipal (Gregory) of Granbury, Texas, Patricia June Youngblood (Scot) and Sharon Gay Lavelett-Keith (Richard) all of Hobbs, one sister, Kim Crawford (Charles) of The Woodlands, TX and sister-in-law, Barbara Parker of Hobbs, grandchildren; Cory James Pipal (Jessica) of Dublin, TX, Kevin Lee Pipal (Jennifer) of LaVernia, TX, Scot Aric Youngblood, Nathaniel Martin Youngblood, Adrienne Danielle Norris, all of Hobbs, Christopher Martin McAndrew (Kara) of Cypress, TX, Amber Jean Young (Cas) of Magnolia, TX, and Amanda Rose McAndrew of Houston, TX, Reegan Keith of Hobbs, 10 great-grandchildren, nieces and nephews.
Dan was preceded in death by his son Daniel Howard Lavelett and one brother, John J. Lavelett.
