Cornelius Hutchings Jr 63, of Hobbs New Mexico, left this world behind on October 10, 2019 surrounded by his family. Jr. was born September 28, 1956 to Cornelius and Ethelene Hutchings, in Hobbs, New Mexico.
Jr. graduated from Hobbs High School in 1974. He played basketball under Ralph Tasker for 3 years. Jr would later attend NMJC playing basketball for the Thunderbirds and from there he attended University of Houston. Jr worked for various company’s during his career including, Hobbs Magneto, Monsanto Oil Company, and Hobbs Rental.
Cornelius Jr. was preceded in death by Cornelius Hutchings Sr. (father), Roy Lee Ford (brother), C.J. Hutchings (nephew), Carolyn McBride and Breyana Hutchings (nieces), and Israel Oguin (grandson).
Those left to cherish his memory are his mother Ethelene Hutchings of Hobbs, NM; two brothers, Charles (Patricia) Hutchings of Hobbs NM, and Gregory (Beverly) Hutchings of Sealy, TX; one sister, Connie Hutchings of Hobbs NM; one sister-in-law; Delores Ford of Houston, TX; four sons, Bryan (Alicia) Clay of Big Spring, TX, Brent (Archella) Clay of Roswell, NM, Brett (Tasha) Clay of Hobbs, NM, Cornelius III of Hobbs, NM; one daughter, Mona of Hobbs, NM; ten grandchildren, Tristian, Chellsie, Brittnie, Cason, Jaron, Bhret, Camren, Alyssa, Shamara, Jaylah; six great-grandchildren, Azaih, Ja'Saiyah, Zaden, Hazel, Jonah, Chole; six nephews; Patrick, Keylie, Rodrick, Princeton, Shawn, and Chris; and five nieces; Kelly, Tara, Gina, Joann and Aislinn.
