Cornelia (Ms. Peaches) Granger was born on January 2, 1930 in Chapel Hill, TX to Tyree Morris Sr. and Gertrude Mayes.
Cornelia moved to Hobbs, NM in the early 1940's. She married Willie Bo Granger Sr., who proceeded her in death on June 24, 2015. She began her career as a custodian at the Hobbs High School in 1982. She later retired after a commitment of 15 years.
She was a faithful member of Lane Chapel CME Church since 1956. She was a Stewardess, in the choir and the Kitchen Committee. After her retirement, she spent her time gardening and a participant in her church duties. While her favorite color was black, she loved flowers; especially roses.
On Sunday, February 2, 2020 Cornelia Granger; at the age of 90, made her transition into eternal life.
She was preceded in death by both of her parents, her husband, three sons; Willie Bo Granger Jr., Willie Ben Taylor, Timmy Whitmill; one daughter, Minnie Sue Granger; three sisters, Willie Lou Ward, Hattie Mae Lewis and Rosie Lee Williams and one brother, Tyree Morris Jr.
She leaves her cherished memories of her life with her five children; Johnny Whitmill (Julie) of Corpus Christi TX, Annie Granger of Hobbs NM, Michael Whitmill (Lora) of DeSoto TX, Wanda Young (Alfred) of Arlington TX, and David Granger (Doris) of Hobbs NM. 16 Grandchildren, 26 great grandchildren, 2 great great grandchildren, a Special friend Alta Green, nieces, nephews, cousins and a host of friends.
