Connie Call

Connie Elaine Harris Call went to be with the Lord Jesus on May 23rd. She was born on August 9, 1954, in Canton, OH, and died at home in Hobbs, NM. She grew up in Fort Collins, CO, where she was baptized in the American Baptist Church. She married Alan Dale Call on April 23, 1976, in Phoenix, AZ, and soon afterwards moved to Hobbs, NM. She loved to sing and participated in choirs at church and at New Mexico Junior College NMJC performed in plays and musicals at NMJC and University of the Southwest USW and taught music at
Booker T. Washington Elementary. She was a published poet. She earned an Associate in Arts from NMJC in 2002 a Bachelor of Science in Elementary Education from USW in 2005 and a Master of Science in Curriculum and Instruction from USW in 2010. At the time of her death, she was teaching kindergarten at Booker T. Washington Elementary School.

Connie is survived by her husband of 35 years, Alan Dale Call, her sons, Ian Dale Call and Cameron James Call. She was preceded in death by her parents James and Gladys Harris.

A public viewing will take place at Chapel of Hope Funeral Home in Hobbs, NM, on Friday, May 27, 2011, from 8 a.m. 4 p.m. A memorial service will be held at First Christian Church of Hobbs, NM, on Friday, May 27, 2011, at 4 p.m.
