Funeral service for Connell Naylor of Hobbs, NM will be Friday, November 7, 2014 at 2:00 pm at Chapel of Hope Funeral Home with Rev. Bruce Kirby and Rev. John Ayers officiating. Burial will follow at Prairie Haven Cemetery. Visitation will be 8am6pm Thursday, November at Chapel of Hope Funeral Home with family in attendance from 46pm on Thursday, November 6, 2014. Arrangements are under the direction of Chapel of Hope Funeral Home. We have come to celebrate the life of Connell Naylor who began this fantastic journey of life on May 2, 1929 in Beaumont, Texas.
Mr. Naylor moved to Hobbs, NM with his family in 1935 and later married Doris Viola Daricek on April 18, 1966 in Juarez, Mexico. He worked for Billy Walker after graduating from high school and then joined the Navy in September 1, 1950. He was on the USS PCS1423 which was stationed in San Diego, CA. He was discharged on June 29, 1954 and went back to working in the oilfield. He worked for MorancoZia Drill until he retired in 1989. He loved to wood work, making clocks, potato bins and built a miniature derrick with all the trucks, tanks and pipes. He was a kind gentle and easy going man. He loved his children and grandchildren and was a good provider. He will be greatly missed by his family and friends.
He is survived by his wife of the home, Doris V. Naylor two daughters, Teresa Naylor Maxeiner and husband Bob of Florida Tina Naylor Kirby and husband Bruce of Ardmore, OK five sons, Buddy Naylor and wife Betty of Rock Springs, WY Darren Naylor of Pennsylvania Shannon Naylor and wife Darcy of Midland, TX Dustin Naylor of Hobbs, NM Thomas Pena and fianc Amy Mapp of Hobbs, NM four grandsons, Bobby Kirby of Norman, OK Jonny Naylor of Midland, TX Shawn Naylor of Midland, TX Landon Mapp of Hobbs, NM three granddaughters, Amy Burkman and husband Keith of Wylie, TX Tara Baucom and husband Levi of Orange County, CA, Mandy Manly and husband Brandon of Maitland, FL two brothers, Gordon Naylor and wife Betty of Great Falls, Montana and Jack Naylor of Oklahoma. He has 6 grandchildren and 8 great grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews.
He is preceded in death by his parents Oatis and Odys Naylor two brothers, Orville Naylor and Leonard Naylor a sister, Seba Naylor Pate Spurlock.
