Clarence Dewitt

Funeral services for C.W. DeWitt, 66, of Hobbs, NM, will be held Wednesday, May 8, 2013, 2:00 p.m. at New Hope Baptist Church with Pastor Ron Ragland and Pastor Ray Poskey officiating. Burial will follow at Roller Cemetery in Washburn, MO. C.W. was born January 13, 1947, in Hobbs, NM. He died May 5, 2013, in Hobbs, NM. Visitation will be Wednesday, May 8, 2013, from 8:00 a.m.12:00 noon at Chapel of Hope Funeral Home.

C.W. graduated from Hobbs High School in 1965. He received his Bachelor of Science in Landscape Architecture with honors from Texas Tech University in 1969. C.W. was an officer in the United States Army, 173rd Airborne Brigade where he served from 19691976, and in Vietnam from 19701971.

C.W. owned Natures Way Wholesale Nursery in Albuquerque where he lived for 35 years before moving back to Hobbs where he owned Southwest Pilot Car.

He is preceded in death by his father, Virgil.

He is survived by his mother, Lois DeWitt, from Hobbs, NM three daughters, Amy Marek, and her husband Bobby, from Allen, TX, Lindsey DeWitt of Albuquerque, NM, and Jessica Vann of Albuquerque, NM a son, Josh DeWitt, and wife Jenny, of Bainbridge Island, WA four granddaughters, Chelsea and Cydney Marek of Austin, TX, Zoe DeWitt of Bainbridge Island, WA, and Emily Buck of Albuquerque, NM two grandsons, Bobby Marek of Allen, TX, and Zach DeWitt of Bainbridge Island, WA a sister, Carolynn Ainsworth, and husband Donald, of Hobbs, NM three nieces, Julie McGuinness, of Hobbs, NM, Lori Springer, and husband Shane, of Slaton, TX, and Lori Kirby of Big Spring, TX two nephews, Tracy McElraney of Aledo, TX, and David Hines of Hobbs, NM two greatnieces, Jayde Garcia of Slaton, TX, and Autumn Hines of Hobbs, NM a great nephew Josiah Hines of Hobbs, NM plus many more aunts, uncles and cousins.
