Chris Evans

November 22, 1967 — March 27, 2011

Memorial services for Chris R. Bubba Evans, 43, of Hobbs, will be Saturday, April 2, 2011, 10:00 a.m. at Taylor Street Church of Christ with Minister Mike Kennedy officiating. Cremation will take place.

Chris died March 27, 2011, at Lea Regional Hospital. He was born, as a twin, November, 22, 1967, in Seminole, Texas, to Robert Lee and Addie Rose Evans. He married Jacque Clemmer May 26, 1999, at Scharbauer Street Church of Christ in Hobbs.

Chris was a loving, Christian husband, father, son, brother and friend. He graduated from Hobbs High School in 1985 and served in the army from 1985 1989. Chris also was a graduate of Faith Bible Institute, and was attending the Deep program.

The New Life Support Group was blessed to have him as their Bible study teacher for 14 years and he gave the devotional at Heartland Care for several years. He had been employed by the Hobbs Schools for ten years and just recently, had been installed as a deacon at Taylor Street Church of Christ where he had been an active member for many years.

Chris is survived by his wife, Jacque of Hobbs two sons, Adam and Ethan Evans of Hobbs four sisters, his twin, Christa Sibley of Hobbs, Melba Cotton and husband Joe of Hobbs, Verna Lee Evans of Ft. Worth, TX, and Martha Burt of Ft. Worth, TX two brothers, Donald Ray Evans of California, and David Evans of Ft. Worth, TX motherinlaw, Burnelle Clary and husband Clifton of Hobbs grandpa, Jack Huckabee of Hobbs and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and other relatives.

Those preceding him in death were his parents, his sister, Ruby Guy and Martha Huckabee, whom he called Nanny.
