Chloe Mathews

Funeral services for Chloe L. Mathews will be 1:00 p.m. Monday, August 27, 2012, at Chapel of Hope with Pastor Elio Barrios presiding. Visitation will be Sunday 1 4 p.m. August 26 at Chapel of Hope. Interment will follow services at Prairie Haven Cemetery. She was born April 2, 1915, in Ava, Missouri, to Floyd and Ida Ann Fry. Chloe married David Mathews November 30, 1935, in Wetumka, OK. She died August 21, 2012, in Hobbs at a local nursing home. She was of the Baptist faith.

Chloe was manager of Wackers and Wynns retiring in 1980. She loved to garden and enjoyed cooking for her family and her church.

Surviving Chloe is her son, Bob Mathews of Odessa, TX brother, Doyle Fry, of Penn Valley, CA niece, Patricia Thomas of Grass Valley, CA and great niece, Nancy Barnwell, and husband Dean Bud, of Monahans, TX.

Preceding her in death was her husband, David W. Mathews, who died in 1980.
