Private graveside services for Charles Charlie Yaws of Hobbs were held 3 p.m. Tuesday, Sept. 12, 2006, at Prairie Haven Memorial Park with Pastor Benny Greenlee officiating.
Arrangements were under the direction of Chapel ofshy; Hope Funshy;eral Home.
Mr. Yaws, 77, died Sept. 11, 2006, at Lea Regionshy;al Medical Center. He was born April 15, 1929 in Stamford, Teshy;xas. He marshy;ried Jean Stein Yaws on Sept. 10, 1951.
Charlie Yaws moved to Hobbs in 1957. He retired from the Kerr-McKee Potash Mines. He enjoyed remodeling and carpentry. He was an avid Dallas Cowboys fan. He was very proud of his wife and family and was always considshy;ered as someone you could count on.
Survivors include his wife, Jean Yaws of Hobbs, N.M.; a son, Charles Dean Yaws and wife Martha Urias-Yaws of Farmington, N.M.; a daughter, Susan and husband Ron Humphreys of Midland, Texas; two sisters, Lois Wills of Stamford, Texas, and Wyvone Putman of Purdon, Texas; a treasured grandshy;daughter, Erika Watson of Scottsdale, Ariz.; two nephews, Donald Wills and Wayne Putman and three nieces, Lisa Pierson, Patrice Flint and Suzanne Martinson.
Memorial contributions may be made to St. Jude Children's Hospital, 501 St. Jude Place, Memphis, TN 38105-1942.
