Mr. Tiemann, 91, died Dec. 26, 2006, at Good Samaritan Village. He was born Sept. 2, 1915, in Seguin, Texas. He married Faye White on Oct. 8, 1938, in Tynan, Texas.
Charles was a U.S. Navy veteran, havshy;ing served in World War II. While living in Mathis, Texas, he served as chief of the volshy;unteer fire department and was a Boy Scout leader. He also played baseball. After moving to Hobbs, N.M., he coached girls softball. Charles worked for Phillips Petroleum for 25 years and worked on the last drilling rig for Phillips. He was a member of the Good Sam Travel Club. His hobbies included fishing, hunting and gardening. He was especially proud of his beautiful yard and the awards he won with his pecans for the state of New Mexico. He had placed first six years in a row. He was known as a great prankster. Charles greatly loved his family.
He was a member of Grace Lutheran Church for many years.
Survivors include his wife, B. Faye Tiemann of Hobbs, N.M.; a son, Carl Tiemann and wife Gladys of Hobbs, N.M.; a daughter, Nora Shellenberger and husband Don of Odessa, Texas; two sisters, Violet McAlister of Zapata, Texas, and Vera Velska of Sandia, Texas; three grandchildren, Sarah Faye Shellenberger of Odessa, Texas, Mark Tiemann and wife Cindy of Las Cruces, N.M., and Tammy Tiemann Powers of Lovington, N.M.; and six great-grandchildren.
