Charles Charlie Kemp passed from this life November 19, 2012, in Lubbock. He was born January 12, 935, in Snyder, TX, to Luther and Mattie Kemp. Funeral services for Charlie will be 2:00 p.m. Friday, November 23, 2012, at the Prairie Haven Memorial Park Chapel with Pastor Brad Reimers presiding. Visitation will be Friday the 23rd 8 a.m. 12:30 p.m. at Chapel of Hope. Charlie married Thelma Varner January 28, 1952, in Lovington, NM. He was of the Baptist faith.
Charlie loved sports and was an avid Dallas Cowboy football fan. He enjoyed helping people in many ways. He had a great sense of humor, was a very happy man and enjoyed people. His greatest joy was his family.
Surviving Charlie is his wife, Thelma Kemp, of Hobbs 2 sons, Gary Kemp of Hobbs and Ronnie Kemp of Yakima, WA a daughter, Donna Davis, and husband Larry, of FtWorth, TX sister, Lucy King of Lubbock 2 granddaughters, Staci Evans of DuBois, and Amy Warner, and husband Clyde, of Ft. Worth 3 greatgranddaughters, Shania and Khloe of Ft. Worth and Tristyn of DuBois, PA 3 step grandsons, Barry Davis of San Antonio, TX, Bert Davis of DuBois, PA, and Lou Davis of Bridgeport, TX.
Preceding him in death were his parents, a brother and a sister.
The family requests, in lieu of flowers, memorials be sent to the United Way of Lea County.
