Chad Dewayne Simpson of Midland, Texas passed away Monday, December 15, 2014 at his home in Midland, Texas.
He was born in Hobbs, New Mexico, on November 22, 1980 to Keith and Kathy Simpson.
Chad graduated from Hobbs High School in 1999. While still in high school he joined the National Guard and after graduation he enlisted in the Army. Basic training took place at Ft. Bliss in El Paso and Ft. Sill in Oklahoma. He then was stationed at Ft. Bragg in North Carolina, where he was in the 82nd Airborne Division. He married the love of his life, Sandra Maldonado, on June 29, 2002.
In April of 2003 Chads unit was the first to arrive in Iraq during Operation Iraqi Freedom. He was promoted to Sergeant while in Iraq. After leaving the service he came to Midland, Texas. He joined the Midland Police Department where he held several positions. He was a K9 officer and was on the S.W.A.T. team. Chad was promoted to Sergeant in 2012. He acquired a bachelor degree in criminal justice from the University of Phoenix in 2012. He had an outstanding personality and his plan was to one day become Chief of Police. He was a member of Temple Baptist Church in Hobbs, New Mexico. He will truly be missed and forever in our hearts.
Those left behind to cherish his memory are his twin children, Caiden and Emmarie, his parents Keith and Melissa Simpson and Kathy Trembly, his grandmothers Gladys Simpson and Irma Wissman, special uncle Steve Simpson and wife Judy, aunt Karla Quimby and husband Don, special friend Reed Gunter and many cousins and friends.
He was preceded in death by his maternal grandparents, Pat and H.L. Cain, and his paternal grandfather, Roy Simpson, and his faithful K9 companion, Sid.
