Carolyn Norton

Carolyn Dudley Norton, 82, of Hobbs, New Mexico passed away on October 9th, 2022, at home surrounded by her loved ones after a lengthy illness.

Mrs. Norton was born December 11, 1939, in Seminole, Oklahoma to Edward Erwin (EE) “Dud” and Olive Pansy Dudley.

Carolyn moved to Hobbs in 1956 where she attended Hobbs High School and was in the graduating class of 1958. She attended Business College in Odessa, Texas. There, she married David Norton on December 23, 1964.

She was a member of Bethany Chapter #56 Order of Eastern Star. She served as Auxiliary President of Eagles Lodge from 2003-2004 where she worked Bingo and many caterings. She was also a past member of the VFW, American Legion, and Moose Lodge.

Carolyn was an avid Bowler and went on many tournament trips. She loved sitting and cracking pecans from her pecan tree. She also enjoyed traveling, dancing, ceramics, embroidery, puzzle and coloring books, cooking for her family, and was a loyal fan to her Dallas Cowboys and Oklahoma Sooners.

Carolyn was preceded in death by her Parents, Husband, Grandparents; Robert and Nora McArthur, Henry and Charity Darthula Dudley, Sister; Cynthia Davis, Aunt; Esther Taylor, Nephew; Sean Tyler Morgan and many other special family members and friends.

She is survived by Daughters; Rebecca Foens (Bruce) of Colorado, Kim Dixon (Dwight) of Gillette, Wyoming, Pam Love of Hobbs, Cathy Hines (Jeff) of Hobbs, Jo Baldridge (Tim) of Rio Rancho, NM, Son; David Norton of Hobbs, Sister; Charlotte Morgan (Terry) of Ponca City, Oklahoma, 10 Grandchildren, 19 Great-Grandchildren and her beloved grand dog, Zeke that was always by her side.

In lieu of flowers, the family is requesting donations be made to Kindred Hospice in Carolyn’s name.
