Funeral services for Carol A. Deming, 73, of Hobbs will be at 10 a.m. Tuesday, September 28, 2010, at First United Methodist Church. The Rev. Don Johnston will officiate. Burial will follow services at Memorty Gardens Cemetery.
Vsitation will be from 8 a.m. 7 p.m. Monday at Chapel of Hope with the family in attendance from 5 7 p.m.
Deming died September 24, 2010, at her home in Hobbs. She was born April 15, 1937, in Fairfield, Alabama. She married Darrell Deming in Hobbs. He preceded her in death on February 4, 1994.
Carol and her husband, Darrell, started Hydrostatic Pipe on September 1, 1969. Carol was still active in that business and was the owner of the childrens store, Animal Crackers. She enjoyed traveling, cruises and fishing with her husband until his death. Her greatest enjoyment was Nascar. Carol asked that all that attend her funeral service wear racing Tshirts and jeans. Most of all, Carols family was the greatest blessing of her life. She was known as Mama Carol.
She was a member of First United Methodist Church.
Survivors include two sons, John Deming and friend, Kim Smith of Hobbs, and Dean Deming and wife, Linda, of Hobbs a brother, Jim Williamson of Mena, Arkansas a sisterinlaw, Jacqueline Deming of Fredericksburg, Texas grandchildren, Johnny Deming of Ft. Collins, Colorado, Dudley Wilks of Hobbs and fiancee Stephanie Cone, Dana Deming and fiancee Kyle Reeves of Hobbs, Donna Deming of Hobbs and Colby and Colin Deming of Hobbs special grandchildren, Melissa and Kaila Solovic of Hobbs and Kristen Nava of Hobbs greatgreatgrandchildren, Taylor Deming, Kaydee Reeves and Coy Deming of Hobbs nieces, Vicki Harland and husband Tim of Charleston, South Carolina, Mary Oubree and husband Ed of Charleston, South Carolina, and Chris Williamson and wife Amy of Albuquerque, Kim Bauer and husband Chris of Fredericksburg, Texas, and nephew Shawn Livingston and wife Lisa of Charleston, South Carolina.
Carol was preceded in death by her husband Darrell Deming sisterinlaw, Carol Williamson brotherinlaw, Merl Deming parents, Jim and Mittie Williamson and nephew, Jimmy Williamson.
