Carlton Slaughter

A memorial service for Carlton Dean C.D. Slaughter of Hobbs, New Mexico, will be 10 a.m. Monday, December 8, 2008, at First Baptist Church with Pastor Billy Chidester officiating.

Cremation will take place. Arrangements are under the direction of Chapel of Hope Funeral Home.

Mr. Slaughter, 74, died December 3, 2008, at Lea Regional Medical Center. He was born May 21, 1934, in Little Rock, Arkansas. He married Ann Morgan Slaughter on December 27, 1964, in Hobbs, New Mexico.

C.D. served in the U.S. Army from November 7, 1952, to November 4, 1955. He was awarded many service medals such as the U.N. Service Medal, Korean Service Medal with Bronze Service Stars, National Defense Service Medal and the Good Conduct Medal

He was a member of First Baptist Church.

Survivors include his wife, Ann Slaughter of Hobbs, New Mexico; a daughter and husband Mart of Snyder, Texas; and a granddaughter, Samantha Wampler of Snyder, Texas.

C.D. was preceded in death by his mother, Carmen Clanton.
