Funeral services for Candace Elaine Candy Ditto will be held at Taylor Street Church of Christ in Hobbs, New Mexico, on Thursday, October 30, 2008, at 1 p.m. MST. Burial will follow at Prairie Haven Memorial Park.
Candy will be in state 8 a.m. - shy;8 p.m. today with the family in attendance from 4-6 p.m. at Chapel of Hope Funeral Home.

Arrangements are under the direction of Chapel of Hope Funeral Home.

Candy passed away October 25, 2008, from injuries susshy;tained in an automobile accident. Her grandshy;daughter, Danielle Dani Ditto, was with her and thankshy;fully survived the accident but with injuries.

Mike Kennedy, minister of Taylor Street Church of Christ, Stanley Sarnuels, Candy's brother, and Tom Spoonts, lifelong family friend, will officiate at the service. Pallbearers will be her son, Haydn, nephews Lane Andrews, Steven Samuels and Daniel Simmons; and family friends Casey and Colby Elliott, Derek Morrow and Mason Taylor. Honorary pallshy;bearer will be her grandson, Zian Ditto.

Candy was born in Carlsbad, New Mexico, to Thomas and Millie Samuels on January 29, 1952. She grew up in Carlsbad and on November 27, 1970, she married the love of her life, Vaughn Ditto. After they married, they lived in Houston and Odessa for short periods of time but have made their home in Hobbs for 30 years, leaving only for a short time for her husband to attend Chiropractic College in Pasadena, Texas. They were blessed with three children: Serena Elaine Ditto, Haydn Vaughn Ditto, and Daphne Marlene Ditto.

Candy was a wonderful lovshy;ing Peeps to her grandchilshy;dren, Danielle and Zian; Babe to her loving husband, Vaughn; and Momma to her children, Serena, Haydn and Daphne who adored her so sweetly. To all her family and friends, she was the encourshy;ager, always bringing laughter. She was the life of the party. As an active member of Taylor Street Church of Christ, Candy's beautiful voice has celebrated many weddings and funerals. She was office manager for her husband, Dr. Vaughn Ditto, at Apple Chiropractic. She was also an enthusiastic supporter of all activities in which her children or grandchildren were involved.

She is survived by her husband, Dr. Vaughn Ditto; a daughter, Serena Ditto of Hobbs; a son, Haydn Ditto of Houston Texas; two grandchildren Danielle Ditto and Zian Ditto of Hobbs; her mother Mille Samuels of Carlsbad, New Mexico; her sisters, Treva Andrews and husband Perry of Artesia, New Mexico, and Brenda Simmons and husband Blane of Lubbock, Texas; a brother Stanley Samuels of Angel Fire, New Mexico; her mother-in-law, Nona Ditto of Bristol, Tennessee; and a brother-in-law, Terry Ditto and wife Jan of Bristol, Tennessee. She is also survived by her nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles and cousins and a host of friends who loved her dearly.

Candy was preceded in death by her daughter, Daphne Ditto; her father, Thomas Samuels; her father-in-law, John W. Ditto; and her grandparents. She will be laid to rest next to her precious Daphne at Prairie Haven Cemetery in Hobbs.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests contributions be made to The Candy and Daphne Memorial Fund, Pine Springs Summer Camp, co Lubbock Christian University, 5601 W. 19th Street, Lubbock, Texas 79409.
