Bonnie Sparks

Bonnie Sparks departed this life to be with her Lord on Saturday, July 21, 2012, at Medical Center Hospital in Odessa, TX. She was 79.

Funeral services will be held under the direction of Chapel of Hope Funeral Home of Hobbs on Tuesday 24, 2012, at 10:00 a.m. Graveside services for the burial of Mrs. Sparks ashes in Kermit will be schedule at a later time. She will be in state Monday, July 23, 2012, 1 8 p.m. at Chapel of Hope.

She was born October 2, 1932, in Raydell, in Jefferson County, Arkansas, and moved to Kermit, TX, in 1948. She graduated from Kermit High School in 1951 and married Bill Sparks there on January 1, 1953.

She worked as a dispatcher for the Kermit Police Department, was Chamber Director for a time in Eunice, NM but she is most remembered as the founding director of the Senior Center, serving from 1980 to 2006. She was a very devoted wife, mother, sister and aunt and an active member of the Church of Christ.

She is survived by her husband, Bill, and daughter, Saundra, of the home her sister and brotherinlaw, Twilla Dell and Sherman Parker of Winnfield, LA and numerous nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her mother and stepfather, Willie Mae and Wayne Keaton of Midland, TX her father, Floyd Evans, of Pine Bluff, AR her half brother, Floyd Evans, Jr. of Hensley, AR and infant children, Billy, Jr. and Laura Ann.

Memorials may be made to the New Mexico Christian Childrens Home, 1356 NM Hwy. 236, Portales, NM 88130.
