Funeral services for Bonnie Jones of Hobbs will be 10 a.m. Wednesday, January 6, 2010, at Jefferson Street Church of Christ. Minister Clay Martin will officiate. Cremation will take place.
Visitation will be Tuesday, January 5, from 11 a.m. 7 p.m. and Wednesday from 8 a.m. 8:30 a.m. at Chapel of Hope Funeral Home, which is in charge of arrangements.
Jones, 60, died January 1, 2010, at Alamagordo, New Mexico. She was born December 17, 1949, at DeQueen, Arkansas.
Bonnie worked for the City of Hobbs Water Department for 16 years and devoted the rest of her career life to the children at Humphrey House as their caretaker. Jefferson Street Church of Christ was her church home. Bonnie was best known as a caring, loving and devoted mother, a loyal sistersisterinlaw, proud grandmother and a loyal and dear friend to all that knew her. She will be dearly missed and irreplaceable.
She was a member of Jefferson Street Church of Christ.
Survivors include her father, W. E. Bill Williams of Hobbs son Rhett Jones two daughters, Amy Shields and husband, Joe Bob of Timberon, New Mexico, and Oddray Scroggs and husband Steven of Alamogordo, New Mexico two sisters, Freda Matthews of Foreman, Arkansas, and Edwina Henslee and husband Monnie of Hobbs special friend Keitha Chenault of Hobbs sisterinlaw Bernice Smith of Longview, Texas five grandchildren, Christen Jones, Christopher Jones, Jakelynn Armstrong, Bonnie Shields and K. D. Shields and numerous nieces and nephews.
Bonnie was preceded in death by mother, Geneva Williams brothers Finis Smith and Steve Cantrell niece and nephew Ryan and Crysta Henslee.
