Sisters: Cynthia and Beverly, and Brothers: David and Troy. His parents instilled in them the importance of going to church. together as a family, they enjoyed camping, traveling, backyard basketball games, and game night. They began attending the Colorado Church Camp meetings about the time Bobby was 11 years old. A tradition he continued with his own family years later.
Bobby worked alongside his brother and Father at Raulston's Body shop throughout his high school years. He graduated from Hobbs High School in May 1987.
Bobby met Leah Thomas for the first time when they were just little kids at her farm in Oklahoma. That Sunday morning, before church, he decided to walk along the edge of the stock tank and accidentally fell in. A few years later, Leah moved to Hobbs. They began dating when Leah was 13 and Bobby was 16. On July 26th, 1987, they were both baptized into the General Assembly and Church of the Firstborn. On March 7, 1992, they were married for 32 years. To this union 5 children were born: Dillon Cameron, Katelyn Michelle, Ashtyn Nicolle, Hunter Boyd, and Addison Danielle.
As a young man Bobby enjoyed spending time playing volleyball and 4 wheeling with his family and close friends.
On August 30, 1998, Bobbys faith was tested when he had his major ATV accident. Whereby only the grace of God he was able to walk again.
Bobby loved and invested a lot of time in his children. He took the family on a yearly camping trip to hunt. Together they also enjoyed spending time fishing and going out on the boat, tubing and skiing. As the kids grew older, he began his time as a softball coach to Katelyn and later Addison, taking the family on many trips to play ball across the country. For Hunter and Ashtyn time was spent together building them each a custom vehicle to drive.
Bobby seemed to always have a streak of luck, winning the church ham and turkey raffle more times than we can count. He Also was quite the wheeler and dealer, you didn't dare ask him to find something for you unless you really wanted it because, he would always find it.
On Church Dinner Days, you could always count on Bobby to bring his prized spicey brisket that all the Brothern enjoyed.
