Bobby Lewis Gamble
Born December 25, 1926 in Tonkawa, Oklahoma and passed away at the age of 95 on October 29, 2022.
Bobby served in the United States Air Corp 1944 – 1946 where he was stationed in Germany.
Bobby worked in the oilfield for 36 years retiring from Sun Oil Company in 1986.
Bobby and Jolene met riding the school bus in 1942 and married on December 10, 1946. They had 3 children, 1 daughter and 2 sons. They joined First Baptist Church of Hobbs in 1964 where he served as a deacon and taught Sunday School for numerous years. He was an active member of the Berean/Encounter Class. His favorite thing to do was greet everyone at the door and let them know how welcome they were.
Spending time with his family and friends was one of his great joys in life.
Deer hunting, bird hunting, and fishing were done to the fullest at every opportunity, including building watering stations for wildlife throughout south-eastern New Mexico.
Bobby is survived by his wife, Jolene of 75 years; daughter and son-in-law Beverly and Bill Dyer, son and daughter-in-law Steve and Melody Gamble, daughter-in-law and son-in-law Debbie and John Turner; 8 grandchildren, and 15 great-grandchildren, 3 nephews and 4 nieces.
Bobby was preceded in death by his son, Bobby Dale Gamble, parents, Phinis and Virginia Gamble, sisters, Lois Miller and Betty Spence, and grandson Johnny Dyer.
