Mr. Bobby Cone, 74, died June 27, 2007, in Durango, Colo. He was born May 4, 1933, in Pie Town, N.M. He married Jeanene Cox Cone on Feb. 5, 1957, in Lovingshy;ton, N.M.

Bobby was born in Pie Town, N.M., to Luther and Vela Cone. He was raised with five siblings. He moved to Hobbs from Artesia in 1979. He retired with Chevron and then continued part time conshy;sulting until 2005. He served in the United States Marine Corps from 1951-1954. He was a member and deacon of First Baptist Church. He was the president of the Christian Motorcycle Association. His hobbies included golfing, riding his motorcycle and spoiling his grandchildren.

Survivors include a son, Clint Cone of Hobbs; one brother, L.J. Cone of Artesia; three sisters, Madeline McMillen of Lubbock, Texas, Caroline Vaughn of Amarillo, Texas, and Nola Green of Daytona, Fla.; grandchildren, Lindsay Stephens and husshy;band Derek of Hobbs, Stephanie Cone of Hobbs, Jennie Cone of Hobbs and Courtney Pilkington of Hobbs; and one great-grandchild, Grayson Stephens of Hobbs.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Jeanene Cox Cone, on Sept. 4, 2006; parents, Luther and Vela Cone; and one sister, Norma Arnold.
