Bob Mathews

Bob G. Mathews, 77 of Odessa, Texas passed away Wednesday, August 13, 2014 at Medical Center Hospital in Odessa from heart failureCOPD. He was born in Wetumka, Oklahoma to David Bud and Chloe Mathews on January 16, 1937.

Bob worked in dirt construction most of his life. He worked for Globe, and Allstate, and individually owned companies before retiring from Ector County.

Bob married the love of his life, Mildred King on June 5, 1958 in Hobbs, New Mexico.

He is survived by three sistersinlaws, Evelyn Barnes and Inez King, both of Cross Plains, Texas, and Irene King of Hobbs a cousin, aunt and uncle in California, and numerous nieces and nephews, Great and Greatgreat nieces and nephews as well as friends and former coworkers. He will be truly missed by all.

Mr. Mathews was preceded in death by his loving wife, Mildred Mathews in 2009, two baby boys, his parents, and his younger brother, Jerry.

Visitation will be Monday, August 18, 2014 from 1 p.m. to 6 p.m., and Tuesday, August 19, 2014 from 8 a.m. to service time. Services will be held at 2 p.m. Tuesday, August 19, 2014 at Chapel of Hope Funeral Home, Hobbs, New Mexico.
Interment will follow at Prairie Haven Cemetery Old Section, Hobbs, New Mexico.
