Billy E. Ables, 67, was born October 5, 1947 to Clarence Buddy Geneva Ables, in Goodman, MS. He passed away December 7, 2014 in Hobbs. Billy married Jean Parker on August 2, 1966 in Mexico.
Billy loved gospel and blue grass music festivals. He also played blue grass music and gospel on Sundays for nursing home residents. If Billy were to see an animal on the side of the road deceased he would stop and bury it. He always had a shovel in the back of his pickup. On the job, men either liked Billy or not because he was in control of the location. Billy loved his family and the girls. He visited Taylor Memorial Baptist Church in Hobbs.
Billy leaves behind his wife of 48 years Jean Ables and daughter Denise Menge Rolf and son Robert Ables Natrice both of Hobbs. He is also survived by 4 grandchildren, Heather Milton Cody of Plains, TX, Jeffery Ables, Alesia Ables and Tiya Orr all of Hobbs and one greatgranddaughter, Kylee Peyton Milton of Plains, TX, his sisters Barbara Shrauner David of Del Rio, TX, Ina Sowders, Bourne, TX and one brother Ray Ables Sandra of Hobbs, sisters Janie McNassar Mike, Liberty Hills, TX and LeAnn Ables of Giddings, TX and numerous nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents, Buddy and Geneva Ables and brother, Dennis Wayne Ables.
Visitation is scheduled for Thursday, December 11, 116. Funeral service will be 10:00 am Friday, December 12, 2014 at Taylor Memorial Baptist Church, 1700 Yeso, Hobbs.
