Betty Canon

August 31, 1932 — June 5, 2013

A resident of Hobbs, New Mexico, since 1950, Betty Canon and her husband J.R. Canon came here after having grown up in the farming and ranching communities around Abilene, Texas.

Betty is survived by her daughter Jackie Taylor, and her husband Jim, and son Sam Canon, and his wife Trish. Additionally she is survived by three grandchildren Meagan Ruttkay, Christopher Taylor and Daniel Taylor and four greatgrandchildren,Cyle and Jackielynn Taylor and Camden and Reed Ruttkay. She is also survived by her sister Jeanelle Plowman, and her husband Eddie, of Abilene, TX.

Her love of the Lord and His Church exemplified her life as well as her service to the aging and afflicted. Recently she had been honored for forty years of Auxiliary Service dating back to the days of Lea General Hospital through the era of the Good Samaritan Village to the present facility of Heartland Care. Her faithfulness and stewardship to First Baptist Church of Hobbs displayed her deep seated desire to follow the Lords teachings and honor Him in her daily life.
