Funeral services for Bessie M. Triplett of Hobbs will be conducted at 2 p.m. Friday, October 16, 2015 at Temple Baptist Church in Hobbs.
Tony Wofford, pastor, will officiate. Burial will be in the Prairie Haven Memorial Park, under the direction of Chapel of Hope Funeral Home in Hobbs.
Mrs. Triplett, 79, died October 11, 2015 in her home. She was born on April 21, 1936, in Macon, Miss. and united in marriage to Billy J. Triplett in 1953.
She moved to Hobbs with her husband in 1959 from Mississippi. After 23 years of service, Mrs. Triplett became a retired teller of Moncor Bank. Mrs. Triplett was a member of Victory Center Baptist Church. Previously she attended Pleasant Green Baptist Church where she was a Sunday school teacher and member of the choir. She was a dedicated member of the Women's Missionary Dept. Mrs. Triplett was also well known in her community and enjoyed sharing God's word with others.
Survivors include four sons, Jerry W. Triplett (Karen) of Dallas, Texas, Billy R. Triplett of Midland, Texas, Larry M. Triplett (Debra) of Hobbs, Tony L. Triplett of San Antonio, Texas; four daughters, Linda S. Ellison (Clifford) of Lovington, Brenda G. Watkins (Harrison) of Hobbs, Tueredia F. McBride (Edward) of Lovington, Stephanie P. Bonhom (Keith) of Sweetwater, Texas; 6 brothers, 4 sisters, 24 grandchildren, 25 great-grandchildren and 1 great-great grandchild.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Billy J. Triplett and her parents, Tommie Lee Rice and Laura Cotton and brother Lester Cotton, Jr.
