Bertha Perez

Bertha Wita Perez, 85, was born October 26, 1928 in Chihuahua, Mexico to Benito and Salome Juarez. Mrs. Perez passed away April 8, 2014 in Hobbs, New Mexico. Bertha Juarez married Dolores A. Perez on November 9, 1946 in Cuauhtemoc, Mexico.

Bertha was a member of St. Helenas Catholic Church. She made sure all of her children were baptized and did their Holy Communion in the Catholic faith. Bertha and Mrs. E. Luna were a couple of the original women to help out with the cooking for the annual Family Fair. She loved to cook. Bertha prayed her Novena every night to St. Jude. Bertha was a great mom, grandmother, and greatgrandmother.

Mrs. Perez is survived by one son, Phillip wife Frances Perez of Hobbs six daughters, Rose Alvarez, Mary Pallanes husband Nay, Martha Espinoza husband Oscar, Mary husband Robert Espinoza, Betty Perez, all of Hobbs, and B. Alicia Nicholson of Las Cruces two brothers, Hector Juarez of Hobbs and Ernesto Juarez of Mexico and one sister, Elvira J. Ramos of Mexico 19 grandchildren, 57 greatgrandchildren, and 6 greatgreat grandchildren.

Bertha was preceded in death by her husband, her parents, and one daughter, Irma P. Espinoza.

Rosary will be recited at 6:00 pm, Friday, April 11, 2014 at Chapel of Hope Funeral Home. Funeral Mass will at Noon, Saturday, April 12, 2014 at St. Helena Catholic Church officiated by Father Juan Carlos Ramirez. Interment will follow at Prairie Haven Memorial Park.
