Berta Green

Berta “Grandmother” Lucille Morris Green passed away peacefully in Hobbs, New Mexico on March 02, 2020 at the age of 87.

Berta is survived by her sons; Rodney Green and spouse Roxanne Green of Palisade, Colorado, Randy Green and spouse Toni Green of Hobbs, New Mexico, Rhonda Green of Eunice, New Mexico; numerous grandchildren and great grandchildren; two brothers, Gale and Betty Morris of Andrews, Texas and James and Gloria Morris of Sugarland, Texas. She was preceded in death by her husband Junior “Pop” Green; her parents, John and Alma Morris; sister-in-law, Imogene Morris and her sons, Ricky Green of Eunice, New Mexico, and Reggy Green of Hobbs, New Mexico.

Berta was born on March 6, 1932 in Lamar, Oklahoma to John and Alma Morris. She was a devoted wife dedicated to her family and loving her grandkids.  An avid member of the Lea County Oil Wives Club she enjoyed playing cards and socializing with the group.  She was also an active member of the VFW Women’s Auxiliary.  She married Junior Green, the love of her life, on December 26, 1948. Over 7 years, Junior and Berta welcomed 4 sons into their home who were raised hunting, fishing, and waterskiing as a family.
