Bennie Gaddy

Bennie Lee Gaddy, 73, left this earth on April 15, 2024.  Bennie was born to James and Marion Gaddy in Alabama on April 5, 1951.   He attended Hobbs High where he graduated in 1970.  He was married to the love of his life, Phyllis Talbot.  They were married 52 years.

Bennie worked for the Hobbs News Sun about 50 years, his entire working life. He started as a paper boy, working his way up to Production Manager.  He attended Oklahoma University to help further his career.   He was an avid fisherman.  He would never sit still, he was always working or fixing something.  He loved his family.  He was so proud of his two children, grandchildren, and his great grandson.

He was preceded in death by his wife-Phyllis, his father-James Gaddy, his mother-Marion Johnson.

Bennie was survived by his son-Jeromy Gaddy, daughter-Barbara Cross and her husband Jimmy Cross, granddaughters-Shaylan Plexico, her husband Blake Plexico, ReAnn Cross, and Maggie Cross, great-grandson-James Plexico, brother-Wayne Gaddy, sister-Myra Carr, sister-Delorise Dellinges, and numerous nieces and nephews.
