Mr. Ben Simpshy;son, 80, died Oct. 1, 2006 at Hobbs Heshy;alth Care in Hobbs, N.M. He was born Jan. 9, 1926 in Graham, Texas. He married Maxine Simpson on Dec. 31, 1971 in Hobbs, N.M. Ben served in the Navy Seabees in World War II. He was a member of the VFW and served as commander of Hobbs Post 3274 in 1980-81. He was a member of Northside Baptist Church. He received his high school diploma at the age of 80. He was employed for Cities Services Oil Company for 30 years, retiring in 1983.
Survivors include his wife, Maxine Simpson of Hobbs, N.M.; two sons, Gerald and wife Juanda Simpson of Hobbs, N.M., and Keith and wife Cherrye Simpson of Hobbs, N.M.; four stepsons, Ron and wife Shirley Buzbee of Colorado Springs, Colo., Dale Buzbee of Colorado Springs, Colo., Gary Buzbee of Springfield, VA., and Glenn Buzbee of Buckley; Wash.; a brother, Clifford and wife Loretta Simpson of Santee, Calif.; six grandchildren, Jason and Mandy Simpson of Hobbs, N.M., Lori Simpson of Hobbs, N.M.; Kenneth and Courtney Simpson of Lubbock, Texas, B.J. Simpson of Socorro, N.M., Corey Simpson of Hobbs, N.M., and Gage Simpson of Hobbs, N.M.; six stepgrandchildren, Theresa and John Tumber, James and Crystal Buzbee, Douglas Buzbee, Lindsey Buzbee, Cory Buzbee and Dylan Buzbee; and many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his father, C.H. Simpson; his mother, Minnie McBride Simpson; eight brothers; and four sisters.
