This is the story of Baudelia Rios de Holguin. Baudelia was a wonderful woman that is loved, is missed, and will always be cherished. Our "‘buelita" as her grandchildren wholeheartedly called her, or "Mamá," as she was called by her kids, was an amazing wife, mom, daughter, and matriarch like no other could be.
She was born on May 20, 1930 in the city of El Pueblito, Chihuahua, Mexico.
Baudelia married Rafael Holguin on July 29, 1953 in Maclovio Herrera, Falomir, Mexico. They moved to Hobbs in 1977. She was a hard worker and role model who worked several jobs which included Western Uniforms, Sirloin Stockade, and Kettle restaurant, where she retired in 1992.
She is preceded in death by her husband of 55 years, Rafael Holguin Sr., her sisters; Consuelo Tarin, Fidela Rios, Margarita Rios, her brothers; Miguel Rios, Victor Rios, her daughter; Gloria Alvarez, grandchildren; Eddy Alvarez, Rene Villegas, Crystal Villegas, and Jhonathan L. Holguin.
She is survived by two sisters; Maria del Refugio Garcia and Eduvina Ramos, her brother; Manuel Rios, her six daughters and three sons; Olga L. Garza, Jose G. Holguin, Consuelo Lucio, Cruz Alvarado, Elsa Villegas, Rafael Holguin, Jesusita Reza, Zenaida Aviles, and Juan G. Holguin. She was the head of a flourishing and loving family, heading 40 grandchildren and 75 great grandchildren.
