Barney Hollis

A memorial service for Barney Hollis, 64, of Hobbs, will be 2:00 p.m. Monday, February 20, 2012, at Chapel of Hope. Barney died February 15, 2012, at his home in Hobbs. He was born March 21, 1947, in Hobbs to Barney and Frances Hollis. Hollis married Diane Harmon May 14, 1976, in Seminole, TX. He was of the Baptist faith. Cremation will take place.

Barney graduated from HHS. He broke the highjump record in high school that stands today. He served his country in the Air Force and served in Viet Nam. He enjoyed fishing and golf.

He is survived by his wife, Diane, of Hobbs a son, Chris Hollis, and wife Brenda, of Hagerman, NM three daughters, Rhonda Fattori, and husband Paul, of Albuquerque, NM, Suzanne Harmon of Hobbs and Alysha Cason, and husband Mike, of Hobbs two sisters, Rita Soloman, and husband Vernon, of Hobbs and Sherri Baker of Crane, TX and his grandchildren, Justin and Mario Perez of Hobbs, Christopher and Ashley Hollis of Lovington, Chelsea and Michael Cason of Hobbs, Kim, Elvis and Priscilla Aguilar of Hagerman, and Evangelina, Shian, Jenessa and Victor Aguilar of Hagerman and greatgrandchild, Jaime Ortega, of Lovington.

He was preceded in death by his parents.
